Technology for increasing the precious metals content in copper concentrate obtained by flotation

In the established technologies, use of classic depressants pyrite, such as lime represents one main problems in flotation gold-bearing copper (Cu) ores. Lime addition leads to depression noble metals - gold (Au) and silver (Ag) that end up tailings. Thus, operator incurs economic losses. The current paper presents research aimed at replacing pyrite ore, bearing silver, classical depressor with catholyte, i. e. solution obtained during electrolysis water (pure or aqueous solutions) using a diaphragm electrolyser. Data from conducted show an increase content precious concentrate 148. 04 g/Mg Au 112. 8 Ag achieved by process 216.45 174.03 proposed treatment. At same time Cu recovery increased 3 % grade was 27.5 (compared 16.2 process). It seems parameter influencing selection separation is catholyte pH value.
